What makes a Movie Star?
Hollywood royalty. Those stars are a rare group who
have been deemed by their loving fans or studio publicists
with "that something special" in essence making
them "theONE". Vivian Leigh, Rita Hayworth,
Lana Turner, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Natalie
Wood. All incredible beauties. And all those beauties
were taken, created, molded and shaped into a ravishing,
seductive, sex symbol by the studio star system of days
gone by- from the glory days of Hollywood so to speak.
Fast forward to 2003. Shaped and molded are two words
that don't fit the subject of our story today, actress
Caitlyn Cole. The other comparisons do fit, however.
An incredible beauty with a smoldering raw sexuality,
seductive eyes, and a smile to die for, Caitlyn Cole
has that "special something" a charisma that
you can actually feel take your breath away. What makes
this talented young actress the focus of our attention
today is that along with incredible beauty, she has
a professional work ethic which Hollywood's new generation
of stars, who hope to succeed would do well to emulate.
It is something producers and directors look for, no
make that pray for. From her insightfully funny line
she delivered to Jon Favreau in the Miramax hit film,
SWINGERS, "What kind of car do you drive"(in
one sentence epitomized the true essence of Hollywood
and LA) to her ability to play diverse roles as seen
in her latest upcoming independent films Wrong Way To
Sundance and Oasis this actress truly defines a clear
and focused vision for her career. Here is a young woman
whose natural charisma is matched by confidence and
a deter-mination that has been unwavering in its focus
which only enhances her beauty and appeal. She studies
diligently, is committed to her craft and while appreciating
references to her looks, there is a genuine humbleness
that surrounds Caitlyn Cole.

Her laugh alone is worth the price of admission. It's
infectious, pure and honest. And those three words perfectly
describe her. How on earth did a girl this sexy and
talented get to be this way? As Caitlyn puts it, "I
owe it to my family, my parents." (Her father whose
passing left her heart broken but more determined than
ever to fulfill the dream he saw her begin). "And
most importantly, are those friends and people who help
you along the way are gifts we need to be thankful for
everyday. We can easily forget and get caught up in
our daily grind. It is very important to recognize your
given gifts -this not only includes your talents, but
also your family and friends around you. You work hard,
be honest, respect others, and give back to help others
as they have helped you, never forgetting the foundation
you have built for yourself- your character-your morals."
Caitlyn lives by these words and they are the reflection
of all she believes and if the word "pro-fessional"
can be used to its fullest import (degree) then in this
context it is woefully inadequate in describing this
delightful young lady. " I love challenges and
certain roles are very attractive. I am drawn to raw,
edgy, and often dark, offbeat material. But what I enjoy
most is transforming from one character to playanother
that is completely different. My youth was spent traveling
around the world and living in such places as the Middle
East, Europe, and all over America. I believe this helped
build my own foundation and also the characters I play.
Acting is a business. It's the details and going
that extra mile for someone or in your work that
will set you apart from others." "Loyalty
is also very important to me and unfortunately is often
lost in this industry. I am very loyal and grateful
to those people who have believed in me and helped me
along the way like my attorney, Bob Myman, acting coach,
Aaron Speiser, manager Albert Gianelli, creative consultant
Cesare' (who has helped define my essence into the market
place) and this magazine's editor, Roy Hahn who I have
known through the years. Roy, you ask me about perse-verance
and integrity. In my opinion, the Winston Churchill
says it best; Never give in, never, never, never in
nothing, great or small large or petty - never give
in except to convictions of honor and good sense."
You may have seen Caitlyn along the way in many national
print campaigns and commercials, along with her known
role in SWINGERS.
Look for her this year in several independent films
including Scared, American Friends & Lovers, Wrong
Way To Sundance, Oasis, and Play Ground Girls. This
is a break out year for this actress. Keep yours eyes
out for her. We believe she is the one to watch.
